Adoption
Are you considering adoption?
Today’s adoptions allow you to be part of your child’s life if desired. This option can give you peace of mind, but it is also a challenging journey. Knowing your child is loved and cared for by the couple you choose helps confirm you made the right decision. It seems like a scary decision, but we are here to help. Many women who select adoption have noted various reasons for believing that this option is the best outcome for their child.
Why Some Women Consider Adoption
Many women who select adoption have a variety of reasons for believing this option is the best outcome for their child. Do you think about these issues:
- You do not want an abortion, but aren’t ready to be a parent.
- You want to provide your child with a two-parent family.
- You want your child to have emotional and financial stability.
- You are currently living in an environment that is not safe to raise a child.
You Have The Power To Choose
Adoption can be a wonderful option. Whether you want to contact your child and adoptive parents through open adoption or would prefer a closed adoption, the choice is ultimately yours. We understand this is not an easy decision to make, and we want to support you as you look at it more closely. Only you can decide your future and your child’s future.
Types of Adoption Plans
Open Adoption
The majority of adoptions today are open. Florida is an open adoption state, which means that the birth mother has open contact with the child and adoptive parents if she desires.
An open adoption plan means both the birth mother and the adoptive family exchange identifiable information such as full names, addresses, and phone numbers. The two can communicate in various ways, including phone calls, video chatting, in-person visits, and more throughout the child’s life.
Closed Adoption
A closed adoption does not disclose information about the birth parents or adoptive parents to the other party involved in the process. Additionally, there is no post-adoption contact between the birth mother and the child or the adoptive parents in a closed adoption. Everyone maintains complete privacy.
